Hello all, I bought a slab of Turkish agate online. It is lovely but when I inspect it up close, the orbs (circles) and tubes all have traces outlines around them as if you could "pop" them out of the slab. Hope I'm making sense. I don't think this will polish out...or will it. All the characteristics of the piece pretty much have this. Should I coat with something, just cut my cabs out and polish? Need some direction please.

Well if they do polish nicely I hope that you will post the pretty pics.

Different sort of material, but I've had a few orbs fall out; epoxied them back in and kept on grinding/polishing. Worked good.

This may not be much help, but I have cabbed quite a few and they held up all right. Both on the saw and the grinder.
edit- You can coat the surface with some thin CA (crazy) glue. That will fill any small voids for cabbing.
