How much time and flexibility and vehicle ability will you have while there Glenn? Fallon is 1.5 hours north of there and there are a boatload of collection locations around there with the highlight being Wonderstone Mountain of course. The rockhounding books are loaded with suggestions. If you had a 4x4 I could point you to some great material in the Dead Camel Mountains near Fallon.

Also search Google for Wilson Canyon near Wellington. I know the clubs go there - I have never been there but I made a mental note about going there if we are ever in the area.

There was a rock shop in Fallon we visited when we were in Reno. A lot of material in bins outside.

Violent squatters can be a serious problem. Go with protection

Tommyvegasjames may know about prospects and risks. I personally wouldn't take a chance on squatters.

Only got half a week left, thinking about checking out the lower sump Saturday which might be my last trip out, wish I could go every day exploring but I'm limited to how much my ride is willing, and they mostly like TV lol
