I wasn't sure at first what I was getting myself into last November after signing up for a special live auction with if I remember right over 100 lots of rocks and lapidary estate stuff. Then I watched as lot after lot disappeared at the speed of light. I saw this lot come up for "ROCK STONE LAPIDARY SPECIMEN" and could barely see that it looked like an Owyhee picture jasper. I won the bid at more than I wanted to spend then got really mad because they tried to tack on an outrageous shipping total. After some negotiation I got them to charge me for a MFRB and I paid up.

After it arrived I a couple of cuts and wasn't that thrilled with it so I tossed it on the rock pile. This last week I dug it out again and started cutting from an different side and *bang*

Saw some of these at Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Beautiful and fascinating animals!
