Those fellows are used to working with cherts. Not the flashiest material. But true to Native material which is important to them. If you send them fancy agate slabs many will gladly knap them for you. But the agate has to be quite glassy and knapp-able. The other problem with sending them agate slabs is that many like them heat treated so it will knap easily and many of them do not have heat treating ovens. Heat treating is fairly involved and takes a lot of time/electricity. Obsidian is one rock they do not heat treat because it is not hardly treat-able. Some super high quality pure agates like Brazilian might be knap-able w/out heat treating. You have to consult the knapper you are working with regarding the heat treatment issue. Or you can purchase already-heat-treated slabs for them to snap. There are knapping material sites on the web. Willie is gonna get some chert from me that I collected in MN and also some of the jasper I got from Area 54 Hopefully he will be able to make something with them

Those are really cool! How sharp are the edges? I mean, are they "working" points or decorative? Seems like doing the copper edges would make them more wearer friendly.

He filed them for me before he shipped them. They are pretty dull, which is a really good thing as me and sharp objects have a bad history

Let's just say I feel embraced electronically and throw in a big imagination that I am obviously blessed with. I am well pampered my dear. Yea, Willie is stone cold nut no doubt. He is out of glass and beating me down for another load for trade. Worse than junkie he he. I am in a sweet spot for receiving points in trade. Glass money so to speak.

I don't want to think about your imagination I saw that he is wanting more glass. He whips out points fast! He is going through a hard time right now and I think the knapping keeps him busy.

Wilie offered to file my points dull. Actually I believe it saves him time if you ask him to knap them dull from the start as it reduces his labor.
