I came across this old footage. This is close to the area where I have been going over the last few outings, will post a few photos later. but sadly nowhere near the size of some of these.

Just small broken bits compare to those. Mix of smokey and clear quartz, tourmaline, blue and clear topaz. Found in an old watercourse, half way up the hillside. Just specing the surface material, no digging yet.

You've found some nice looking material. You Oz folks are sure lucky to have the variety of materials all in one area that you do. Makes me jealous.

Interesting video. Australia's an amazing place geologically. During WWII the U.S. imported huge quantities of Brazilian optical quartz for the same and other uses. After the war it all went into storage until about 10 years ago when they had a big liquidation auction. Some people were able to buy a lot of great clean quartz as a result.
