This news is very exciting to me. I received the latest Kingsley catalog recently and the prices on those sintered burrs is a game changer for me. Too bad I just spent 3x Kingsley's price recently elsewhere. Mini-Novas @ Kingsley is big also... and the bulk tumbler grit packaged in flat rate bargain shipping? Forget about! Thanks for this shout out hummingbirdstones!

I just got my catalog. They also have the Whaley sliding hammer, which I want as well. Maybe time to shop?

I was looking at the Whaley hammer, too. A maybe on that one, considering the quality of the bezel cutting shears. Eurotool makes the hammer as well, I think.

Since I picked up some fire agate, I have been considering picking up some. I am guessing the sintered group would be a good starting point and a set of the cone shape for polishing?

The sintered ones will last a good long time as compared to the electroplated ones. I'm considering picking up a set of the sintered, too and also the Nova points. I'm going to get the bullet shaped Novas in both sizes. gemfeller do you find the cylinder shaped Novas useful?

I use the other shapes a lot more, along with mounted phenolic points that can be shaped with a file to fit most needs. Can't recall where I got them -- they were purchased long ago and were relatively inexpensive. Crystalite sells some shaped phenolics but they're around $12 each so costs mount up quickly since you need a separate one for each grit. Shop around, you my be able to find the blank ones. Mine came in 2 sizes and the one pictured is the large.

Thanks! I could really think of anything I would use a cylinder on, either, that I can use the smoothing discs on.

I second Dook's sentiment! The "heads up" is appreciated.
