You may have seen these before, although there are a lot of new people who have not.
Prolific!
We went to the swap meet the last Sunday in March, and came home to find this -
We've had so much rain the last few months (have already surpassed the annual rainfall total for the year!), the cactus just soak it all up. This particular plant had been leaning pretty heavily to the west, it couldn't handle all the extra weight, and over it went. Luckily, nothing else damaged.
Before picture, taken within the last year or so.
And now. We gave some away (hate dealing with Craigslist flakes, lol), and slowly but surely, the rest went out in the green waste.
This is in the front yard, a little color. Parasol aloe, Aloe capitata, from Madagascar.
Picked this plant up in Q some years ago, when the cactus sellers used to be there every year.
These photos were taken last month, on 3/26/19. The flowers are now more yellow in color, and the individual flowers are falling off.
My directionally-challenged sunflower. The street I live on runs due North/South, and this flower is pointing north.
Aren't they supposed to point towards the sun?
This was a volunteer, we throw bird seed in the yard for the doves and sparrows.
These are some Cymbidiums up at my dad's house. On a table in the back yard, in the shade of a lemon tree.
This one sent a flower spike straight out horizontally. I put it through the trunks of the tree to support it.
A close up.
When the flowers start to open, I move them out to the front porch, where they can be enjoyed. You can't see it because of the overcast sky, but the
Pacific Ocean is along the horizon at the top right of the photo. Cell phone can't quite get the picture, need to use a real camera, lol.
Another moved to the front porch.
That's it for now!
Thanks fer lookin' Jean
