Someone just listed this with BIN for cheap. Mine now. OMG! I can't wait to get it. Totally Blue Biggs. Downside is- I don't know the thickness, but at that price, I had to grab it and back it later. LOL!

Gorgeous Rufus Blue Biggs! Lots of scenery to work with there. Mixed hardness, so take care, but so worth it in final results (plus easy to get attractive photos of that stuff that sell it quickly).

Thank you so much! I have been looking for some this blue for a long time. I have no doubt that it will sell quickly. Knowing me, though, it will sit with my good deschutes- afraid to cut into it. LOL! What does Rufus mean?

Can you tell me what BIN stands for? Buy it now for a set price - as opposed to an actual auction with bidders.

Can you tell me what BIN stands for? Buy It Now. I was ridiculously cheap and even had "make an offer", which I didn't waste time with.

There were 2 finds of "Blue Biggs": the original 1964 Flood dig (lasting only a few weeks) and a later find to the east nearer to the hamlet of Rufus a ways east of Biggs. The Rufus material has more opalite and that airy pattern. The older material had darker colors mixed with some white. Both have become very hard to find. You did good! The original Blue Biggs jasper sometimes gets confused with Blue Deschutes, just because they both have more saturated colors. They do look different, though, as the blue colors occur in different areas of the patterns.

Somewhere I have some photos to illustrate - but my computer images are about as much of a mess as my "collection" Biggs jasper from Rufus, Oregon: Biggs jasper from south of Biggs (Fulton/Biggs Canyon): Blue Deschutes jasper (confluence of the Deschutes and Columbia Rivers):

Just what I needed. That blue deschutes is off the charts! WOW! Thanks- You can really see the differences when they are next to each other.

rockjunquie - Nice score! You are going to get some stellar cabs out of that.
@rock2dust I covet your whole collection of Biggs and Deschutes. And on Easter! For sure I will be going to hell. That blue Deschutes is the most amazing thing I've ever seen I think. I didn't even know blue Deschutes existed.
