Saw this table on a local FB Buy/Sell/Trade page I am a member of. This table is used. No price was listed, so I messaged the seller. $650.00! Kind of high to me, lol. Agate river table 18x18x24. Made out of clear epoxy with cherry wood and real agates from Mexico, Kentucky, and lake superior. With solid steel legs. I laughed at the "real agates" reference. He also had one made from shells, starfish and other sea creatures for $450.00.

I've never made one, so I don't know how long it took to build. Makes it hard to estimate what my price would be.
The table in the photo doesn't have the kind of appearance I'd pay that much for, though.

I like that you can see through the resin.

I've thought about making a table top using lapidary material. I would make a coffee table with a glass top. I've seen tables with mosaic inserts at thrift shops and consignment stores. I would remove the tiled area. I would use small slabs and either fit them together or random shapes floated in mortar. Probably sand through 1200. The effort required to make, sell and ship wouldn't be adequately compensated. I could make one for personal use but I have a crazy lifestyle and don't have anything furnished as a living room or den.

I found the price very high for a used table. Can only wonder what they paid for it.

We donated a table like that to a thrift shop. I have no idea what they were asking for it. It was purchased at a consignment store for my son and he didn't have a big furniture budget.
