Congrats on the new saw. I chuckled at "all his spiderweb jasper". My daughter is in River Falls for college, just this side of Minneapolis. It been a plan to get to MLS one day when I'm visiting her.

I think he has some pretty good prices and he is very knowledgeable. You'll enjoy it.

I might not let you in my garage, I am bringing home in a couple of weeks 100 buckets of rough, 5 saws, some tumblers, a couple arbors. I also bought a new rolling mill, and a silversmith bench.

You know I find this kinda funny. We get excited when we see an eagle. My daughters appreciate seeing them but not the "stop the car I think that was an eagle" excited like us. I guess when seeing one as a kid was a rare occurrence for us makes it more specialer to see them so much now.

I guess when seeing one as a kid was a rare occurrence for us makes it more specialer to see them so much now. As a kid growing up in SoCal, the San Bernardino National Forrest's had many Bald Eagles. One could spot them easily in certain locations around the lakes during the Spring and Fall...........This was in the 50's, 60's and early 70's..........along came the 80's and 90's and their populations started to dwindle along with the forest habitat and other food sources, fish, squirrel's, foxes, beaver, deer.....ect, ect..........mainly due to the use of pesticides and lead based products that had been used to control the Bark Beetle infestation.........we still have a problem with. In 1971, the Bald Eagle was put on the serious threatened/endangered species list here in California, that was lifted in 2007. The Bald and other Eagle/Falcon types are still on the endangered list. It took over 30yrs, but with the advent of a few very successful recovery programs and the Protection Acts adopted by both the Fed's and the State, nesting and egg laying has accelerated quite rapidly here. We can again enjoy our childhood wonderment of this magnificent flying creature.........!

This is from one of the spiderweb jasper slabs. I bought all the slabs he had left, which wasnt much. If he had rough, I would of bought that also. He said this particular stuff is out of Oregon and is mined out. There are opalized spots in some of it. Its absolutely gorgeous and takes a great polish. (The green spot is a reflection off my shirt)

Nice looking cab! We have a box of that stuff, but it's cracky as all get out. Must have gotten a bad batch.
