As soon as get my Show out of the way this weekend and I get a few more pics sent from my digging buddies I will put out a report. Wanted to include this photo as jamesp just recently mentioned "Red Clay". This was taken at Ron Coleman's mine after a day calf deep in a clay muck pile looking for points. The muck had oozed into my boots and must have added 2 or 3 pounds on each. Tryng to move around was a killer on my legs and knees, prying crystal out was a workout on the shoulders and arms. I was sore for a week. (can you see any issue with trying to take pictures in these conditions?) Happy Crystal Digger!! WP_20191015_13_42_05_Pro by Findrocks, on Flickr

I hope you got some good points out of it. Wet red clay is a force to be reckoned with!

We've been there. Never have tromped through so much slippery red clay since...... and the humidity! Nevertheless, we filled up the trunk of our car.... and returned a few years later. Crazy rockhounds!! lol

I was hoping I wasn't working this year when you went. I seen you had gone and missed out again. Maybe next year. Wanna see the trip report

I wanna wack some pigs! Well there are definitely pigs to be wacked here. I got a note that Teri Smith is planning to do Spring trips(maybe her last?) to the 4 West Texas ranches she has access to. No dates yet but that is usually Feb/Mar/Apr time frame. Problem with summer in Arkansas is the heat, hard rock mining in heat and humidity is not to be taken lightly. It's the one reason we always do Oct, that and the Contest in Mt Ida.

HankRocksGood point on the oppressive heat in Arkansas. Our trip is summer though, Jeannie is a school teacher. I wonder how pig hunting works in summer. No matter, thanks for the reply. Hope to meet you some day!
