So using a toothbrush and needle to clean my rocks just wasn’t working for me, as the strongest you can get now-a-days is a medium one and it just seemed to soft. Plus it wasn’t very efficient for the larger rocks and was taking forever and the needle can sometimes be difficult to get a grip on to get dirt and grit out. So I had a super coupon from Harbor Freight and picked up these goodies for like 5 bucks. I love the shape and feel of the handles on the brushes. The softest brush is a little more stiff than a toothbrush and has been working great. I haven’t had to use the other two yet, but would only use them on a first or maybe second stage rock anyway in fear of scratching them. Plus the larger brushes are great for bigger rocks. Now the picks are just pure awesome. They’ve been holding up really well and with all the different angles they’re great for getting the dirt or any stuck grit out from any cracks, pores or fractures in the rocks. Thought I’d share this in case I wasn’t the only one that wasn’t happy with the ole toothbrush and needle method of cleaning rocks.

You should get some good use out of them. I also like a larger brush for big rocks and get mine at the dollar store. If you take picks when rock collecting, keep them in a solid container of some kind so they don't poke thru your pack or find another way to poke you. For soft cleaning of rocks, needles from a cactus work pretty good. My patience for scrubbing and poking has worn a bit thin, so I have been using the water jet on a fabric gun instead.
