I couldn't believe the size of these hoppers when I was out hounding today! They're the fattest I've ever seen! That's a great picture of that beastie, Jason! I hate grasshoppers. Sometimes we have so many we have to resort to putting down Nolo Bait to control the buggers. We put it down last year because they were everywhere eating all my plants and this year we only have a few. The stuff works and it only affects the grasshoppers and nothing else.

I just had to Google Nolo Bait. I had never heard of it before. We are just inundated with them this year. With little to no rain, everything's been brown (for the most part) all summer. The grasshoppers started showing up in early Spring. I think this one's midsection was almost the size of a quarter...not quite, but dang close! I think a large-mouth bass would have choked on this guy! LOL

I think a large-mouth bass would have choked on this guy! LOL It's good stuff. Expensive, but it works a treat. It's bran that is sprayed with protozoa. We buy the 5 lb. bag when we do get it from Arbico Organics. I believe I've also seen it on Amazon and I'm sure other places have it. Best to buy it early in the spring because it sells out really fast and it does have a shelf-life. We had the same grasshopper problem last year because of the drought and no Monsoon. One thing to remember if you do buy it - it needs to be dry when you put it down. Once it gets wet, the grasshoppers won't eat it.

My health is slowly returning. Am under Dr.'s orders to be out and about some to regain my strength/stamina. Found the perfect thing to do on a beautiful day in Wisconsin. AJ riding his bike. Scaling the "mountain" next to the "big tree". Playing "airplane" on the "big kids swing". Spent 4 hours at my daughter's. 3 of that was playing with AJ in their yard and at a nearby park. It felt good to see them again and be able to walk around some.

Had to grab a couple of cookies, lol. Meat markets/butcher shops are such wonderful places. I miss the one I used to go to.

Both are beautiful, but the moon shot is out of this world. Figuratively...and literally!
