My Derby Hat is mostly done. I just need to even out the folded part of brim and add a few more feathers on the right.

As a side note- Every time I see the word derby, I hear dArby in my head. I watched the show Peaky Blinders and that's how they said it. It stuck.

That is the Queen's English pronunciation. If you watch some races in England and Australia, they are Darbys. Fun side note, I have a co-worker whose name is Darby. I wonder if he likes horse racing? He works in our Madison location and I have not seen him in many months.

My Daughter and I took AJ to his first Pow Wow yesterday. He was so excited to go. My Daughter had shown him some videos of Pow Wows and explained what they were about. The afternoon was filled with some anomalies. The event announcement said that Grand Entry would be at 12:00 PM. It was actually supposed to be at 1:00 PM. We arrived at about 11:30 AM. Wanted to get some Indian Tacos for lunch. At first, were unable to find any. Then I asked someone and they said there were food trucks located in a back parking lot. We found the food trucks. Also got some Bubble Tea. AJ was a little unsure of the tacos and bubble tea. My Daughter had some snacks and water for him. We both love Indian Tacos and bubble tea, so we were good. When the event started at 1:10, there were a lot of announcements and dedications. AJ loved the drum music and dancing, but there were more other things than them. He did see a couple friends from school and was excited about that. I pointed out someone who was dancing that was about his age. He then started dancing, too. We left a little after 2:00, as he was getting tired and bored. When we got back home, he told his Dad that he loved the Pow Wow. Even showed hm how some of the people were dancing. AJ loves music and dance. AJ and I relaxed on the couch, watching Cars. He ate lunch. I then went to work. After he went to bed, later, my daughter stopped by for a drink and a 6 pack. She has been to Pow Wows before and was a little disappointed. There were all Intertribal Dances when we were there. She was looking forward to the specific dances. We were seated on a top bleacher, next to the wall, so my photos are not that great. I have more, just need to do some cropping and sharpening. The Drums: A Northern Traditional Dancer and his son

I purchased this beautiful bracelet at the Pow Wow. I liked the simple elegance style. Made by Calvin Spencer, Navajo.

AJ competed in his first bicycle race Saturday. At the start. His tongue is always out when he is very serious about something. He says Spiderman makes him go faster. On the course. An excited AJ. He received a 1st place medal. Everyone in the age 6 and under Strider Division received 1st place medals. He is registered for a few more races this Summer. Yesterday, he insisted to coming to see me at work to tell me about his race and show me his medal. I worked the late shift, so was not there when he came. Some co-workers said he was so excited and had to tell them about the race.
