Trying again. The market was nice and gave me an extra 10% off all replacement plants. Was able to replace almost everything. Had to get a different pepper variety than the original. Went for a Tequila variety of Bell pepper. It is very sweet and purple. I think they would be great on a veggie tray. Much different than the Lemon Drop peppers I had purchased. Fortunately, I gave 4 of those away to friends. Also, got a couple different Perennial Purslane to replace the perennials that froze. Some different varieties of coleus. Was told to keep everything inside until Monday, as there is a chance of frost overnight until that then. It is very rare to have a killing frost in this area after early May. Tomatoes and peppers. All small varieties. Mostly heirloom cherry and pear varieties of tomatoes. Bell and Tequila peppers. I can use peppers for cooking. Am also able to eat some now raw, if I take my allergy meds. The tomatoes came staked with zip ties holding the stakes. I will be removing the zip ties after planting. Coleus. A couple of my favorites were no longer available, but these will do. Moss Rose and flowering Purslane. I love the wild purslane I grow. These should be great, too. They are prolific for spreading and producing seeds. I am off work a couple days next week, so hope the weather is good enough for me to plant everything.

I am on the planning committee for a family reunion. We have not had a reunion since the late 1990’s. A few days ago I posted this photo of my Great Uncle playing croquet on the reunion FB page. Now, I guess we are going to set up croquet for the reunion. I have a 1950’s croquet set and know how to layout the court and play. Looking forward to seeing my cousins and playing croquet. Disregard the pails of ice fishing equipment in the photo.

Beth, on the Italian side of my family (Mom), we would play Bocce Ball at our reunions.

Had to share. My daughter went to a bicycle clinic in Washburn (South Shore, Lake Superior) this past weekend. Bought $40.00 worth of raffle tickets. Last week her husband had installed a 3 bike carrier on their car, in anticipation of when AJ would have a larger bicycle. She told him that the grand prize for the raffle was a top of the line bicycle. He just laughed and said it was a good thing they had a three bike rack. Guess who won the grand prize? Yes, my daughter. She had recently purchased a nice off road bicycle she found marked down about 50%. It was only $800.00. She also won a nice hydration pack. All for $40.00 worth of tickets. She will not be buying anymore raffle tickets for anything in the near future. The MSRP for the bicycle is $1750. Much nicer than the one her husband has. Better suited to her than the one she just bought. A full suspension Liv Embolden. They are keeping her other new bike for friends to use for now. I want to go riding with my daughter in the near future.

Went to a week long estate sale yesterday before work. Came home with several goodies. A box of vintage Christmas lights. I will be making ornaments from some of them. Think the orange ones would look cute with Jack O' Lanterns painted on them. Then turn them into garland. The cool find in the box was a 1940's to 1960's Noma Rocket Bubble Bulb. I also found some replacements for items that were stolen, like 1920's candle holders and 1940's Christmas bulbs. Plan on going back today, as the person said that new items will be put out daily. I didn't have time to look at everything there.

There's two other salespeople where I work. The saleslady has a cactus on the counter. It really looks sad...and dying! So, last night I polished two Petoskey Stones Jugglerguy brought me. I put them on the counter. I told my boss if the gal can have a dead plant on the counter I should be able to add some dead animals! He laughed once I told him they're coral...and even though he still isn't too sure how to take me sometimes, he's figuring it out little by little! LOL

Thanks Tela! I was going to take some glamour shots of those because they really did shine up really well! I haven't polished many "full sized" rocks on the wheels...but I have a couple more Petoskey's waiting in the wings! LOL

More from the never know what I am going to find files. Going through all these totes/boxes is an adventure. Finding some things I never knew we had. Magazines from 1918 and 1935. Some pages from the 1935 Woman's Home Companion. Check out the meal planning guide. There are more Illustrated Reviews and some 1970's Life Magazines. All are in amazing condition.
