We decided next time we go, we're bringing sandwiches and swimsuits. Hour and a half hike to Chenuis Falls, WA Birthday suits were an option.

A friend of mine recently re-opened her bakery/restaurant in Amherst. To go items only. Open Tuesday-Wednesday from 9-1. She also hosts cooking/baking classes with guest chefs and has a 1970’s style loft Airbnb unit above the bakery. Amy does not have any employees as of now. She does all the cooking/baking herself. Usually starts at about 2 AM. Has many varieties of wheat free, gluten free, vegan, paleo and vegetarian foods. A variety of natural non-alcohol beverages. She also has some regular items. Today, I arrived about 9:30. There were about 48 items in the bakery case. Another 240 in containers waiting until there was room in the case. Only 4 lunch bowls left. This Sweet Potato/Rice/Black Bean Bowl made for a perfect supper. I had to remove the peppers and onions, but it was great. I also got a Gooey Chewy Bar. Imagine an oatmeal bar loaded with thick, hot fudge. It must be eaten with a spoon. They are great warm with a little ice cream on top.

There's been several times where my wife and I went out to the farm for a family function...early...too early...as Marvin was "au naturel" when we showed up! LOL - I'm glad it wasn't that way for this pic! LOL

I am going through old photos and scanning them. Scanning and inverting old negatives, too. This really does not fit in the Face Behind the Name category, so sharing here. A little me. The space heater was our main heat source for the entire house. I still have the embroidered horse picture that my Grandma made. That is shown above the space heater. It is now in my living room. The TV lamp is on my fireplace mantle. I love the decorative edges on B/W photos of that era.

When I moved (did you know that, have I mentioned it enough?!) I knew one of the biggest things I would miss is Lake Michigan. For the last few years I lived within a mile and had free access to a public but mostly quiet beach.
I needed some kind of replacement where I could swim and kind of mindless meditate, aka hunt for rocks.
So I've been kind of searching around, thru word of mouth, suggestions, some online, and just general observational curiosity. We had passed area a few times heading out to Mt. Rainer and it's not really that far away from where we are situated.
There are a few swimming holes and cliffs to jump into pools and a few spots to do a little rock hounding I guess. I think from looking at maps there are some gravel beds further down river that I'll check out soon enough.

THanks. Steve(son) did the design and layout so I can take no credit. We walk each morning so I do get satisfaction from an artistic creation from what I collected many years ago.
