5 month and 2 year old doing their wrestling game. No dogs were injured. Great shot! I've missed your pupper pictures.

Yeah, tough one to beat. Talk about making lemonade from lemons. That stream looks very inviting.

Hang in there, we are always here and I am glad you have some good tasks to focus on.
One of the 4 inch an hour rain we have here would clean that granite off!!
Diane enjoyed the dog picture.

Henry No shortage of tasks here to burn off discomforts Henry. Lesson learned, deal w the aches and pains and avoid the painkillers. Was it hurricane Rita that dumped 50 inches on Houston. Incredible. 4 inches in an hour can be so destructive too. Texas does everything big. Liking those specimens you cut and buffed up. The wood looked very familiar. Texas also has fine silica. Denise took that photo of the pups.

jamesp That dog picture is hilarious. Look forward to seeing your granite specimen. I can relate to using lapidary as a meditative mental health aid. Hope you are feeling better.👍 It took 4 months before I could get good sleep Khara. I feel for those that use heavy doses of that drug. The doc had me on a low dose and it still about whooped me quitting. When they say opiate epidemic they are accurate. The predominate tree growing on the granite bedrock is winged elm. It clings to that hard rock well. Their root system is intense and reaches far for wet soil. Probably not a good candidate to plant near a septic system.

Yeah, tough one to beat. Talk about making lemonade from lemons. That stream looks very inviting. That little stream fed our plant business for 25 years Tela. Even at 10 gallons per minute in the summer it still provided plenty.

You really cannot drive in a 4 inch an hour rain, although that doesn't seem to faze some fools. The worst I have been thru was the 2016 Tax Day Flood, we go almost 16 inches of rain in about 5 hours. We had between 8 and 10 inches during the Memorial Day 2016. It was a very wet month and half!!

jamesp - Got ya in my prayers brother!! Thanks Jason. Finally sleeping regular. Endorphins heal slow if they can ever go back to normal. The pleasure component is damaged to some degree.

Those are serious rains. 60 inches ?!#$@, it was Harvey. You guys had another heavy rain a week ago. We had 6 inches in just over an hour a long time(30 years) ago. The storm cell was barely 10 miles in diameter. It flooded small creeks and turned them into rivers. Lots of damage.

I can't speak for everyone...but I can say I do know a person "can" kick it...and get back to some semblance of normality. Since I'm referring to myself, take the definition of "normality" with a grain of salt. All kidding aside...I know what you're going through. Oh the recounting of events I could tell you! If you need an empathetic ear, don't hesitate to contact me my friend! * Like I told my wife when she agreed to marry me...I haven't been a saint all my life! (She quickly informed me I have a better chance hitting the Powerball than I do being "sainted"... )

I think both of our wives would have a lot more to worry about if we were neighbors and arriving at sainthood would become a total impossibility. I doubt either wife would be content with normal. We could just remind them all is well when we trained them to forgive us for all forms of our behavior .

Picture of last week, really. Running behind which seems to be normal anymore. Weather forecast said cold and snow so we headed south to find some sun and warm. Found some. Did a little wildlife viewing.
Found Mr. Nope Rope sunning in the road. When I walked up he just slid off to the side out of the way. I was told that he rattled a little but it's been years since I've been able to hear them. Found a few rocks as well, I'll try to get a few pictures when they are cleaned up. Have a great day. Russ
