While handwashing pots and pans last night, a Giant House Spider wanted to join me for dinner.

Denise the dearest just sent this one, complaining about a stalker. Giant mantis from the heavens in Sci Fi attack comes to mind. Just watched a video yesterday of a praying mantis that was hanging out on a hummingbird feeder. It snagged a hummer by the beak and killed and ate it. The hummer was much larger than the mantis.

Just got back from Monterey. We always see some sea lions but I've never seen any on this beach. It's usually all scuba divers. There were a few!

One of my favorite dives was on New Year's Eve in Monterrey. My friends and I put on our scuba gear and went out to the end of Coast Guard Jetty and watched the sun come up from under the water with all the sea lions swimming around us in the kelp forest. Was really spectacular.

The other good thing about wearing scuba gear is you wouldn't smell them!

A buddy from a past life showed up on the doorstep last weekend. Signs of wear and tear obvious. Some very wild times had back in the day.

miket - I'm wondering if you were able to get that pic of the sun because of the smoke coming from the "First Thunder" wildfire going south of us right now...

So this happened Weds morning on the way to work. 60mph truck meets big ass buck. No winners here. Truck gets dropped off at the repair shop Monday and pick up my rental. Yay me. No human injuries but the buck is sucking somewhere. Only thing that made it non drivable was a tab hit the transmission cooler and busted the weld. New cooler and 3 qts of fluid and back to work on Thurs.
