Cool looking eggs! I like the tan/brown matrix color gradation especially against the dark agate. The cab shows off the escense of the eggs nicely!

Tommy Those are so unique! Great cab! The matrix is rhyolite? Unrelated, one of my thumbs developed sympathy pains as a sign of solidarity!

Hahaha yeah that one was a double-driller - one hole to release the throbbing blood buildup pain was not enough. Yes the matrix is rhyolite and only a little bit softer than the agate so it's a really neat material to work with.

That's cool! The host rock is just as pretty as the agate interior.

Neat! The ones that contain some red agate are my favourites of this bunch, I think. What I personally always love about this material is how it often seems to be hosting really bizarre animals and other creatures. The last slab for example looks like a phoenix spreading its wings to me, and I also see some spooky dogs and a scared black ghost, among others (now that I think of it, they actually look a lot like those Rohrschach test inkblots...). Very cool!
That thumb does look very, very painful, though - ouch!

Thank you for sharing those! I also like the ones with red.
I feel your thumb pain

“Hahaha yeah that one was a double-driller - one hole to release the throbbing blood buildup pain was not enough.” I like that you know to drill the thumb nail to release the pressure. It feels better immediately, right? Having been a framing contractor for over 35 years, I’ve drilled my thumb/finger nails many times. On the job, the easiest thing available was a 8 or 16 penny nail. Heat the end with a lighter and spin the tip on the nail. Goes through like butter...and instant relief....usually never lost the nail either. DISCLAIMER! ...this is not medical advice.... don’t try this at home. Jeff

Very unique. What will you do with them? I could see polishing the faces and displaying them as specimens. Looks like they'll make nice cabs too.

I'm not much of a specimen collector - every time I try I start eye-balling the piece and thinking about what nice cabochons could be had from it

Very cool! Unfortunately you'd probably have to draw crayon lines around your visions - and even then there's no guarantee I would see it. I seem to be missing a vital link between left and right brains. I have a hard time creating something from nothing. In other words, I draw stick people
