Some local artists have joined the rock painting/hiding craze here. The first photo shows the works of a local lapidary artist. She is using her trim saw and carving skills for some of the rocks. The remaining photos are the works of an amazing artist. Considering most of these rocks are less that 3" long, the detail he achieves is formidable. If you are unfamiliar with painting/hiding rocks, here is how it works. People young and old paint and hide rocks in various locations. Lately, many are being hid in parks and fishing locations. The back of each rock has the name of local rock painting group on it. Also says to post a photo on the FB group, keep or rehide. A popular Stevens Point sculpture park in the woods now has the paths lined with painted rocks. So many are going for walks in the local parks and outside art displays. The children are loving looking for rocks and hiding them for others to find. I paint and hide way more than I find, as I do not travel to places more than 12 miles from home.
