It was around 70 degrees yesterday so my son, grandson and I decided to pack up and do some rockhunting. No great Fairburn finds but it was still a great day- and we didn't see a single soul. Thanks for looking. Tried to take a shortcut, that didn't go very well. Here's a couple of pics of something we saw out in the middle of nowhere. Look closely. Some scenery and my favorite grandson...I think we wore him out!

My computer screen is too small to see the mystery something. A peacock? Did you bring home any rocks?

It's hard to see, unless you can blow it up on your phone. We were driving by, out in the middle of nowhere. It's a green dinosaur, a brontosaurus if I'm not mistaken. So weird.

He really is. He'll be five next month already. I honestly don't know where time goes.

My computer screen is too small to see the mystery something. A peacock? Did you bring home any rocks? It was a concrete dinosaur- and me, bring home rocks? I cannot tell a lie...of course I did. Nothing fantastic, some pet wood and a few other things I may post tomorrow.

Looks like a great trip. I've heard a tired kid is a good kid...lol. Thanks for clearing up the mystery. I couldn't tell what it was but that is definitely weird to have a concrete dinosaur out in the middle of nowhere.

We had fun, and I can see how it would be hard to tell what that was, sorry about that! Also, the first picture is a gate across a road leading to the Pine Ridge Reservation. We didn't realize that it went through there and were about 25 miles from the highway when we got to it. Probably should have paid better attention to Google Maps.

We didn't realize that it went through there and were about 25 miles from the highway when we got to it. Probably should have paid better attention to Google Maps. That would be a big oops...oh well, stuff happens sometimes. I once drove 16 miles to go to a lake in Idaho and had to turn back with less than a mile to go because the EPA had shut down the road because some mine tailings had slid onto the road and caused what they referred to as a "toxic situation". Geez, those tailings had probably been next to that same road for 15-20 years without anyone thinking anything of it. Trouble was that they didn't bother to put a sign up at the beginning of the road to warn you. Driving along then all of a sudden saw a guy in a lawn chair sitting next to a road closed sign. He was the one who told us about the EPA guys closing it. As we were talking there were 4 big black SUVs that drove out of the closed area. The guy said they were government regulators along with saying a few colorful words to describe them...lol.
