Rats are gone from utility room and temps are warm enough for me to finally start working on the Lavic for WWRT contest. Had hoped to have grinding wheels, Lot-O and other equipment set up by now, but COVID 19, rats and temps prevented that. So, I am winging it. Picked the best from rough received. Put in two, 3 lb., rotary barrels. This is all the rough I received. Picked up some driveway rocks as smaller filler. Added some new, unused, fairly hard, 1" triangle ceramics as additional filler. Added 3 TBS. used coarse grit slurry. Water to just below rock surface. 3/4 full barrels. Added an additional 3 TBS of 30/60 SIC grit. Will see how everything looks in about 2 weeks. The great news is that my Chicago Electric tumbler is working great. I had done shut down maintenance on it last Winter. Cleaned it and applied new oil prior to starting today. Hope I can find someone I trust to help clean out utility room to have space for my Lot-O for finishing stages. Also hope they will move Lot O from barn to utility room, as I cannot lift it, as it is mounted on a full size cement block. AS usual, I will pay for the help. Yes, I know, the rough should have been broken up and then the rough edges ground down, but circumstances prevented that. Just doing the best I can.
