Hey all, I haven't said much, again, because I can't show photos, but I've been playing with my jewlery findings, dremel and 330 epoxy and I've made a few pendants and ear rings. I stopped by the business a friend of mine owns today because (of all things) there is a pear tree on the property that I have watched for the last 2 years not be harvested. My husband and I dropped by to see if we could have some of the fruit. The pears are very hard but good for baking, and she said sure, take all you want. We got to talking and I told her about the stuff I was making. She told me she had expanded her business and was selling jewlery as well and to show her what I had. I've only done about ten pieces but I brought her what I had. She loved them and wants to put them in her shop on consignment, 70(me)/30(her) split. She's an artist, so I respect her opinion. I'm so thrilled! Only been doing this for 2 days and I have a backer ;D This is TOOO much fun, and I can make a little $. Orderded jump rings today, she will supply the ribbons (make really pretty necklaces) and I'll sell the rest as independent pendants. Made 5 more tonight. WEEEEE! wish me luck!

Cookie, that's great! I want you to get your butt down to WalMart and buy one of those one time use cameras with digital capicity and take some pics and POST THEM!!! I am really excited for you!
I have a place to take my walking sticks and probably anything else I can get made and put on consignment. When I was trying to find a mailing tube for Shorty's walking stick, I took it in to make sure it would fit in the tube she had. She loved it and said to bring some in. they have all sorts of crafts stuff there, so when I get some stuff finished, I'll take some things down there.
I got a grinder on ebay and as soon as I get it and learn how to use it, I am going to get real serious about doing some freeform cabs and making jewelry. I keep spending money on all this stuff and it's time I got myself in gear and made some things that maybe will put back some of that money in my pocket! LOL!

That's great Cookie, doesn't it feel nice when someone likes your work enough to feel that they can profit from it. Llana, how did you and BE do at the Apple Fest? I wish I could have made it over there.

Hey cookie, Sounds like you are well on your way to becoming independantly wealthy . CONGRATULATIONS I am a sucker for a Pear Pie ;D ... okay, well any pie! If you ever get to Eggers Lapidary in Golden, Colorado, go out back where the rough is and check out the huge pear trees they have back there. They let the pears just fall on the ground for the birds, and they don't do anything with them at all. If we are going to my mother-in-laws place, we'll check out Eggers Lapidary. Sometimes we end up over there at the right time and feast on the pears! When we leave there ... I bet I have gained at least 1 pound or so . There is nothing like freshly picked fruit. Llana, I have seen your walking sticks as well, great job on them! Enjoy, John

Three lb Barrel rollin 2 rocks a tumblin and a cabachon in a pear treeeeee! Thanks for your support, everyone. It's been tips Ive picked up here that did it. Use a bowl of water to dip stones in as you shape,)Llanna) 330 epoxy (great stuff) (Sands) Using styrafome to hold the stones as the glue sets.(bshults) Hermitite, that's why I told you to use your "inexpensive" findings and have fun. That's all I'm doing and I'm on my way, appearently. Once I make a little money I plan on using sterling silver exclusively, but that will cme in time. GO FOR IT! Never know till you try! Llana, I used that camera for my last pics and they didn't come out well at all, but maybe I'll try again, out side in the sunshine. Ya'll haven't even seen my "wet polish" batch yet, and I'd love to show you cookie
