I think this side was the top. You can see how it self leveled like a pancake on the griddle.

This one has some curious bug activity going on. We've learned that dung beetle excrement will show up as lighter colored anomalies within tunnel remnants. This specimen appears to have had circular shaped structures that the beetles tunneled around. Was it because the structures were too tough to dig through? What were the structures made of, and could the beetles have been responsible for their presence?

Randy, that's such an amazing observation which makes total sense! I would imagine the Dung Beetles would follow the general rule in nature...which is to follow the path of least resistance!

It's hard to tell from the photos but part of the tunnels are still empty or have crumbly, less substantial filler. I surmise it's because the bugs didn't totally backfill the void with their dung. I've seen this in many specimens.

I think the blue parts can be explained easily because it's a well-known scientific fact that dinosaurs loved black licorice.

TURD TUESDAY This one has a rider on some kind of beast. Dung Quixote de la Mancha EXACTLY! At first I saw Chris LeDoux on a bronc, but now it's Dung Quixote for sure. I can see the llama too, Tela.
