Every day I pause to gaze for a moment at my sentinels. They seem to be hibernating well, they've only been through 140 something million seasons so a little cold isn't anything new.

I was slowly scrolling down the thread and I saw two arms with hands clinging to the top wire...I was wondering what little creature was stuck in the poo pile! Hahaha

Jason, looks like a bat hanging around in the guano cage. That was a good one! I was thinking maybe a miniature Pterodactyl snuck into the outhouse! LOL

You need to build a shed around one of the piles and put a heater/fire under it... prehistoric poo sauna! I'd pay money for a shvitz in that!

Well if my wife finds me naked in the shed with steam rising off a pile of poo rocks and I'm beating myself with a pine branch you might not see me post here for a while. But then, that's actually a real good idea. I have the space to build a nice sauna in the back yard by the creek and I've got the skills and tools to make one... stewdogg you are responsible for this! Looks like a summer project is on it's way!

Here's the tentative site for the glorious coprolite sauna. (Pending approval from the Mrs.)

Next, you're going to want an outdoor shower to rinse off after the sauna...might as well start thinking about that one too!

Next, you're going to want an outdoor shower to rinse off after the sauna...might as well start thinking about that one too! What, not roll in the snow or lay down in the creek? I used to do that in Wyoming when I was a young guy living off the grid in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Been 30 years since I entertained such a sporty lifestyle, now I'm old and soft but still full of enough vinegar to do it. Might have to start it again just for nostalgia and to broaden the horizons of some pals I'd talk into participating. I'd trap them in the sauna and make them listen to tales of coprolite hunting.

I have been mulling the idea of building one in my backyard this summer as well. It gets cold here and I'm a mechanic by day, so the warmth sounds good to my muscles/joints. I'll get more poo from you and make the second prehistoric poo sauna. We can set people up for a cross country prehistoric spa tour. My view is not nearly as scenic as yours RWA3006, so I'll have to turn up the hospitality over here a bit. We can get jasoninsd to build one and we will have the central/north part of the country covered. I guess you could use all those cool rocks you find as well in place of the Coprolite. I'll draw up some plans...

I'll draw up some plans... Growing up, we had one in the house my folks bought when we first moved here to SD back in '79. As a kid, I only used it a few times. As a late-teenager, I used it many times... sometimes alone...sometimes not! Where I live, I have an AMAZING view of the Back Hills...from my garage roof! LOL I keep telling my wife I'm going to build a second story on the deck behind the garage so we could sit up there and look out at the Hills. That's where I could put the sauna with a picture window facing the Hills! I'd have to have a squeegee permanently placed in there to keep the view! LOL

My gosh, you guys really ARE enablers! My wife already rolled her eyes at me when I mentioned a coprolite sauna, but fortunately she's pretty tolerant of my projects as long as I knock out some for her too.
