I marked the shapes on the slabs some time ago but the patterns didn't get me excited or I already had completed similar. I'll probably grind the shapes on some and work on two; an Owyhee and a Morgan Hill. I've made a lot of cabs lately and there is no point to making more except to keep up the skill level. Owyhee, Haystack Butte, Morgan Hill

Nothing wrong with keeping the blade sharp, keeps the skill sharper! Beautiful stones.

I really like the pattern in that tear-drop shaped Morgan Hill!
It sounds like you're looking for a challenge rather than the same ol' same ol'...

I think the pattern changed a little when grinding and sold in about a week after finishing. I do what I like and feel like doing. It's a hobby not a job. The only exception is when a cab sells and I have a preform or slab that is similar I'll work on it. I made cabs for around 20 years before selling. My business plan is buy rocks, make cabs, sell cabs and buy better rocks.

I would like to see the Haystack Butte finished please? Several years ago I was at the site, it has been reclaimed but the club wandered around and we all found a little. I have not finished any but have sawed a couple into one cab slabs.

The Haystack Butte is gorgeous! I also love the Blue Biggs triangular cab you have in your shop. It's almost like a half moon.
