K,confused. See messages that southeast WI has agates and messages that there are no agates on the shores of lake Michigan. Should I take a poll.1🤔 ✌kozman

There are agates and fossils there. A lot depends on specific area.

Thank you. I thought there should be. But one day I was walking a beach south of Milwaukee I noticed a man looking at the rocks on the shoreline. I asked if he was looking for agates. He sternly said "no". "There are no agates in the area". Seemed like a well educated person talking of this glacier and that. I'm coming back from Lake Superior Duluth MN area visiting. I was able to spend time with a local showing me what I am looking for. Peace, Kozman.

Agates of any kind along the S/E lake Michigan shoreline are extremely rare. I have found one lake superior agate and a just couple of other of other types... also with the lake levels where they are now all rock hounding has become more limited.
