We've been doing a little more exploring around here. Thought I'd toss up a few pictures just for kicks. From about three weeks ago. Just out for a drive at about 9100 ft.
Wasn't sure what we might find there. Not a lot, but did find some interesting calcite at an old prospect pit. Last weekend we went off wandering around again. Checked on a couple of places I'd seen obscure references to, but had no real directions or anything. One of the roads we went down.
Found a little interesting stuff.
Spent too much time driving trying to figure out how to get where we wanted to be. Found some decent jasper and usable chalcedony as well.
Probably try to get back over there, maybe before the snow flies. It was warm - 90+ - but beats the heck out of working, eh?
Have a great day.

You can't beat just cruising around looking for anything or nothing. That really makes me jealous.

Looks like you had some fun. Glad you were able to get out and rockhound. Those are some beautiful calcite specimens. Delicate but beautiful to look at. Thanks for taking us along in pictures.
