I can’t figure out how to remove the old grit paper from decades old Covington lever-lock drum. This drum has not been used in a very long time...is there a technique or tool I can use...loosening and/or removing the set screw makes no difference...grit paper remains “locked” inside drum opening. Any suggestions?...Rocket

If it was mine I'd take an exacto to it and shave it clean if I couldn't get it to open up

Grind a couple pieces of steel into a sharp wedge with a fairly long taper and tap one in on either side of the slot between the bolt and the frayed paper. I would use pieces of 1/8" x 1/2 or 3/4" flat bar a couple inches long for the wedges. I've had the same problem.
