For those of you who use Dremel's, any suggestions as to which models are good, better, best? Anything in particular to look for in one of these?

Hi Rosebud, Cookie picked up one on ebay that is variable speed and she is using it to shape stones and drill holes. Mine is a variable speed Dremel, model 800. Mine is cordless. I tried polishing beads with it with a little success. What I learned was, if you have a battery operated Dremel, you will want a spare battery pack.
Try emailing Cookie and see what she has to say. Nancy

Thanks Nancy, I've been watching ebay and seen a few but just don't know which one would be best to get. I think I'd rather have a corded model.
Someone was talking about having a drill press type thing for their dremel. That sounds so neat so I'd like to make sure I got one that would work with the drill press.
Thanks again, Cher

I used a dremel for years. I got a standard variable speed dremel, than a flex shaft. The real breakthrough came when I added a sewing machine foot pedal. I set the dremel at high and use the foot pedal. It works much better. I have a foredom now, with an hammer attachment. I still use the dremel for drilling pearls. Any non battery dremel is good. Get a foot pedal.

Thanks, does any sewing machine foot pedal work on the dremel?

Hey Cher, I use the Model 395 Variable speed Dremel. I would reccomend getting the flex shaft attachment as well. It is much easier to work with the shaft as it is smaller and lighter and easier to handle. I just hang the motor from a hook and there is very little weight to hold.
