Well, I've been a busy little bee this past week. I started work on my zen patio! I wanted a way to use the bulk of my rock collection where I could enjoy it all the time. My goal is to slowly add my polished rocks to the group. jasoninsd inspired me with the area he and his wife made. It looked stellar! I used this texas gravel as the base. I even got some Keepers out of the bag I added my purple basalt, selenite, chert, flint and travertine rocks on top of the gravel. Theres quite a bit of hematite too. Should look spiffy once it's polished. This what I'll get to rest my eyes on now when I relax on the patio. If anyone has an idea on how to arrange my big sandstone and sagenite agate rocks please let me know Here's a close up of the agate I'm slowly face polishing.

Thanks stephan. I'm not actually sure where it comes from. I bought it from the Gem Shop. I previously bought some gorgeous smaller sagnite agate from them that I love. I made another order and told them I loved the previous material. This time they sent me a boulder lol I can't really slice it on my 7in. saw. So I had to sort of nibble at the sides and rotate the rock around. I hope to be able to get a slab from it someday. Under the yellow sagenites are beautiful purple white filaments. Gorgeous! I want to start taking macro photos of some of my stones. Its like new worlds inside some of them.

I'm in awe with what becomes seen with a macro lens rather than just the naked eye! I can't stand the camera on my phone. It won't take macros like I'd like, but I don't really want to buy a new phone just yet. So, the other day I ordered a 60x magnifying lens that clips onto a cell phone. It was pretty cheap (inexpensive...but I'm guessing cheap as well), but I'm hoping it will enable macros...fingers crossed!

That should actually work well for you jasoninsd . Many macro photographers use normal or telephoto lenses with magnifying filters attached. I was about to order one for my Nikon macro lens so I can get even closer This is one of my favorites so far.
