That's super nice! My great great grandparents were rockhounds and built a fireplace with thndereggs and agates set into it. It made it into the newspaper. We still have the newsclip.

You would think so Bob, but all this material is rather ugly on the inside. It looks like dark dirt with no colors, patterns or high silicification. Being that the exterior is handsome I use it for book ends, novelties and landscaping rock. It came from the southwest corner of Utah and was picked up in the 1950's.

If we were able to carry the love and tolerance shown here into the world as a whole and get anyone to follow the example set, who knows what could be born from that?

Well since I don't Have Randy's pile to cut on, I put a piece of tan oak from McDermitt on the drag saw. got to strap it down and do a bit of alignment before starting to cut it!

😂 I really like the colors too. The reason I was asking is because I have some cool common opal/opalized wood that looks sort of like that.

Found this garnaly chunk in cent4ral Oregon. It is a bit over 10 inches wide and I have not a clue about what type of wood it was. I do think it is root material.
