Hello all, Bought a 33B for my son 4 years ago, and he had no interest. He donated it back to me and I have been tumbling for a couple of months. Settled on tiger eye because of the depth of reflection like some woods have. Been checking them likely more than I should but I gather I need to sort out the ones that need to go to the next stage. Do you only move forward when you have no blemishes, as in stage 1 for weeks to smooth the imperfections? Using ceramic filler for the 1 and 2 stages that are going now.

I have no idea; not a tumbler. You’ve come to the right place. Some excellent tumblers here.
Welcome from California.

My experience with a 33B and 1-2 inch pieces was two weeks with raw stones. I then moved them to the Lot-O- vibe tumbler for the finishing stages. They take a great shine. Leave them tumbling until they are perfectly smooth before going to the next stages. You should only have to check your tumbler once a week. Recharge after a week. Best wishes.

Welcome to the forum and the addiction! Yep, 12.00/lb for tiger eye is expensive. Good thing I have two 3lb barrels and months in between is what I told the Bride....

Plenty of quartz but no gold. Thanks. 2wks in on stage 2. Patience is what I need. Best part of this new hobby. Working on it!

Cut, examine, shape carefully, examine, polish, examine. About a half hour per cab. Look in the main page of this website. Snoop around tumbling section snd cabbing section, and anything else that tweaks your fancy.
It’s a fun hobby. Many facets. Enjoy!

What are your favorite stones to cab and where do you get them? Bet you have some good ones there, or is the subduction out of reach?

The subduction provides Jade😀. Location x3! Mainly sandstone here in the midlands. Plenty of quartz tho. Getting expensive for a hobby. Trade quartz for jade?

tumblee, Welcome from Wisconsin. I have the 33B as well. I check weekly and have water filled containers marked stage 1,2 and 3. I clean and check each tumble and either refill the barrels or put the stones into the containers until I have enough to move on to the next stage. There is good tumbling information on the forum forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/board/34/rock-tumbling-tutorials

Welcome from Northern Arizona!
I don't tumble either, but there are plenty of expert tumblers on the board who can answer your questions. Post them on the Rock Tumbling Board to make sure they see your questions.
Like Pat said, browsing the different topics on the tumbling board and the other areas of lapidary will give you an idea of the vast amount of knowledge that is here.

Thanks to all! Will check back in a week with more questions.. Can't afford the ribeye prices per pound, but may be able to travel. Any hotspots in the 48?
