Just when you think you have it all figured out ....this peitersite undercut badly. Never happened to me before with this material?? Went back to 400 and finished it with diamond. Not as spectacular a finish as with tin but no undercutting🙂🙂 That one spooky lady in that cool pendant, I think she is hearing Rod Sterling saying she will be in there a very long time. I love this pendant and can hardly wait to see you next one. On the shot plates I just ball up some silver (Fine silver if I want the adornment to shine brighter than the sterling) I don't hit it direct with a hammer, I use a flat punch on the ball and hit that with the hammer. Keeps them from going airborn and it directs the force of the blow straight where you want it.

toiv0 Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely try fine silver in the future.
Using a punch is a great idea. Concentrating the force of the blow in a smaller area should reduce the chances of partially formed pieces. Thanks again!
