Just when you think you have it all figured out ....this peitersite undercut badly. Never happened to me before with this material?? Went back to 400 and finished it with diamond. Not as spectacular a finish as with tin but no undercutting🙂🙂

Wow, what a beautiful scene in that stone! A big wave crashing over the ocean water. Great job!

1st that is one hell of a cab and the setting is absolutely gorgeous but the slab it's sitting on isn't too shabby either

Wonderful design and execution! I also like the (texturing?) treatment along the top edge — or are those lines reflections?

I have to admit my first impression was that it was a painting rather than a stone. Talk about a scenic rock! Great job!

Wonderful design and execution! I also like the (texturing?) treatment along the top edge — or are those lines reflections? It is texturing along the top edge. The rosettes are something new for me. I used a Tucker tool shot plate. Approx 3 out of 10 turned out acceptable . Will need more practice.

I don't know if you've seen this video, but at about 14:02 she demonstrates how to use the shot plates.

Watched the video. Came away with realization that at heart I still have a very childish sense of humor. Talking about stuck balls, little oil helps, whacking balls to get them unstuck.... well I lol'd more than once.

Hummingbirdstones, thanks for the link. After watching the video I believe she must have been using fine silver. I was using sterling and it required 3-4 blows with a 5 pound hammer to form the rosette. Even at that they were not fully formed most of the time. I think I will try fine silver in the future.

She uses a lot of sterling, so I'm guessing that's what it was.
I'll see if I can find out if it was sterling and how heavy her hammer was.

Another great pendant Bill! I saw this earlier today on my phone, but didn't want to post anything until I saw the pic on my laptop. That is one of the most picturesque scenes I've seen in a stone. To me, it looks just like waves crashing in the foreground and the rough seas in the background. Gorgeous.
