I've got 2 kids. One is almost 2 and the other will be turning 4 in just two days. The older one has been helping me with tumbling rocks and is super excited about getting shiny rocks. Our first batch to come out of polish should be ready tomorrow, including his favorite one. He's really enjoyed doing the rocks with me every Saturday. However, I'm not really sure what we're going to do with his rocks. We can't just let him have them because the younger kid just immediately tries to eat them. We have to be really careful watching her when we do our weekly cleanouts. I think the smooth, wet, shiny rocks are just to irresistible and look to much like candy, so they just immediately go into the mouth if we don't watch her like a hawk.
So I'm trying to think of something we can do so the older kid can look at his rocks any times he wants, but the younger kid can't eat them.

Something simple like a plastic jar with a lid might be a good way to do it until the little one is older. The older one can still look at them in the jar and should be able to take them out, too. For my daughter, we also put a few of them on little display stands on a shelf in her room.

I really don't think it's a good idea to put a toddler in a display case, no matter how cute they are. 😂

That's like all those signs on cars that say "Baby on board" Why would you do that to a baby?
Anyway, just make sure the rocks you tumble are agate and just get a strainer, this too shall pass.

Having raised 6 kids now, I have to add that the youngest would probably also love a plastic rock jar. Just make sure the lid can't come off. Makes a nice noise maker, too.

Meant to come post an update to this. We ended up getting this small display case that is meant for golf balls. We flipped all the shelfs around so they'd be flat. It hangs like a picture, but I added an extra screw that goes into the wall so it can't be knocked off. It's also got a locking door so the kids can't open it without us getting the key and doing it for them. This picture is from July. He's got several more rocks in it now.

Little kids are very tricky.

I use glass/plastic peanut butter jars, or big screw lid cannisters from the Dollar Store with my kids, but I think your display beats mine to shame!
