I had set my used slurry out in the driveway to help the water evaporate because the forecast showed no rain in sight. I just left it out there for a while. Last Saturday, we went to do our weekly barrel cleanout and noticed these tracks. I think it was probably a racoon. My 3 year old got a little upset because he thought the used slurry was something important so he was crying that the racoon stole some. But I cheered him up by adding more to it

That's hilarious! (In a non-mean meaning kind of way. ) It reminds me of the wet concrete sidewalks with footprints in them.

My cabbing equipment has been outside for over 15 years. I have one Genie tray that is used for only 600 and 1200 grit wheels, so I don't change the water just add more as needed. Recently, something has got into the tray, most likely a racoon.

The raccoon is probably upset too. It went to wash it's hands/food and ended up dirtier!

Husband grew up in the woods of Washington. A raccoon frequently visited. Husband and brothers gave him a cookie, and watched him wash it every time…. and the cookies all disappeared in the water. Poor raccoon!!

Dang trash pandas! Had one tear apart my porch garbage and eat a bunch of foam from the trays from some Bratwurst we had grilled, also ate the little pad they put under the meat. I hope he is going to be ok. Oh and I guess I'm not longer going to toss any food garbage in the can on the porch.

Raccoon prints for sure. If you want another experiment for your slurry, put some into a jar and let it dry out. It demonstrates why one should never dump slurry down a drain. I am going to put a trail camera on my compost. I want to see how the raccoons unscrew the cap. Darn things are smart. My older lab hates raccoons and will give chase. She better not catch or corner one because raccoons are tough and know how to fight.

They always show the guy that hunts mountain lions with his hounds. I know they're trained for it...but I'm always worried they're going to get nailed by the big cat. I'd hate to hear about Daisy getting nailed by a 'coon.

One little story. My wife and daughter were in Holland as my corn matured. I gave updates when I talked to them daily, including the night before they returned. It was looking wonderful and I promised them a feast the evening they arrived. However, raccoons tore all the plants down that night and left none for us. We got a real hate-on for the darn things. I learned that there is no point zipping them, as others immediately move into the area. I haven't planted corn since.
