Best core! DeGrussa copper mine in western Australia discovery hole. 200+ feet of visible copper and gold. Not one of my projects but the driller and mine geologist are friends of mine. I have also drilled and logged a lot of banded iron formation and tiger iron but was unable to keep any of it. Best location 50 feet from the beach drilling cores of basalt & coral reef material for the foundation study for the Maui Prince Hotel. The problem is the good stuff is what you are looking for and is saved by the company or sent to assay. I have seen some great gold in quartz veins but it is not like you can just put it in your personal collection. Cool. A lot of variety. Thanks for sharing.

Well with all the interest in the microcline I decided to post some pics of a couple others found locally: Bautista Canyon: found in float. Note the mica on one face and the schorl tourmaline Another Bautista Canyon float find and my favorite from the Lakeview Mountains about 3/4” of a mile behind my moms house. Again note the additional minerals on this one: quartz, tourmaline, and garnet
