Didn't know for sure where to post this. Mods, please move if needed.
I was recently given a Chicago Electric duel tumbler. It was missing the inner lid, boot gasket, nut and washer from one of the barrels.
I put some rocks/water in the good barrel. Added another good barrel I had filled with rocks/water. Oiled the bearings. Ended up adjusting the O-ring style belt.
Let it run for 24 hours.
Then decided it was worth purchasing the needed parts.
Even though the CE tumblers are considered junk by some, I have had very good luck with the one I purchased 5 years ago. All mine required was some modifications prior to using and maintenance. Am game to try the same with this one.
I had to check out what else was available from The Rock Shed.
My $12.00 parts order quickly increased.
Found a few other items I had to have. Stayed within my lapidary budget.
Just a heads up for those looking for Lortone tumblers. The Rock Shed has some in stock. Also have most parts for Lortone/CE and other compatible tumblers.
