Jackson had made mention in the thread Do Tumblers Crawl about the 3A Lortone getting hot. I had that problem so bad that the belt kept slipping off so I have solved that problem by completely taking the housing off, ever since I did that I have not had any problems with the belt slipping, also the motor doesn't run as hot as before. If you need to keep the housing on for kid and pet safety reasons you might want to remove it and drill some more holes in it for more ventilation. Tami

Why hasn't anyone invented a refrigerator yet for hotrunning tumblers?
Not that it worries my tumblers, but there must be a market for it................surely

I have 2 Lortones and do have kids so couldn't remove the housing (was also concerned with dust in the motor). What we did was take the cover off the motor and bent the two side pieces of metal inward and then put it back on. It works really well for cooling the motor and keeps little fingers out too.
