Oh for crap's sake... Amazing work, my friend! You should have "loaned" the first one to me for this month's contest! 🤣 Really, really nice cabs, Jason!

Here's some Botswana Agates I completed today. There's a white "spot" on the left side of most of these. It's a reflection off the picture on the wall... Yes...I'm having fun with the new cabbing machine. Thanks for taking a gander. So you know the offer you made in the other thread? My answer is that first picture! Wow Jason, just wow!

That first one with the Citrine druzy pocket is absoutely insane! You definitely need to make that into a pendant for your wife.

Outstanding cuts. Glad you're having fun with the new machine. You seem to use it very well! I've never seen a Bot with citrine druse before -- great stone.

Holy smokes. You should have posted that first one in its own thread. With that one in there, the others are not going to get the love they deserve.
The fourth one is definitely earning its keep as an "eye agate."

Holy cow! I mean, holy Bot! That 1st one is unbelievable. The others are simply gorgeous. I'm happy to see you are slowly ramping up with the new cabber rather than just jumping in full speed like usual.

Woah! Those are beauties! What do you finish them on? Maybe I'll try something other than 50k.

I keep laughing over that first line. LOL If I would've only known you had wanted that one for the challenge, it would have been yours. So you know the offer you made in the other thread? My answer is that first picture! Wow Jason, just wow! Thanks Al! I was very serious about that offer. If you want to ever shoot me a PM about it, we can chat.

Thanks Robin! That first one was a bit of a pain. It's a low dome (for me), and I had to go back a couple times to get some scratches out from around that druzy. I was worried I was going to damage those crystals during the process...but it held on! Yeah...about my wife...she has YET to say she wants any of my wraps! LOL - There's been some she said she really liked, but none that she said "MINE"! LOL Awesome cabs. How did you know my favorite agate was Botswana Agate? lol Thanks Diane! If I can get the rest of the Botswana Agates to turn out like these, it'll quickly climb the charts on my favorites list! LOL Wow! There's nothing like a fresh set of wheels and some agates... Not only are they gorgeous, but fun to cab.

Thanks Tela! I really do feel spoiled right now when it comes to how the wheels are performing compared to the flat lap. Now I just have to come up with an elegantly simple wrap idea for that 1st cab...very simple. Outstanding cuts. Glad you're having fun with the new machine. You seem to use it very well! I've never seen a Bot with citrine druse before -- great stone. Thank you so much! I feel like I'm picking up on how to use the cabbing machine quicker than I thought I would. I'm realizing just how special that 1st one is! Holy smokes. You should have posted that first one in its own thread. With that one in there, the others are not going to get the love they deserve. The fourth one is definitely earning its keep as an "eye agate." Thanks my friend! That's funny. Nah...I wouldn't want that 1st one to start getting a "Diva" attitude! LOL I love that "eye" agate! When I cut the preform, I was pretty stoked to see how it was going to turn out. Yowza! Some sweet cabs there!! Gotta love them bots Thank a bunch! I've been wanting to work these Bots for awhile now...but I knew they were just a pain working on the flat lap and they kept taking the backseat to others. Now...maybe not so much! LOL Holy cow! I mean, holy Bot! That 1st one is unbelievable. The others are simply gorgeous. I'm happy to see you are slowly ramping up with the new cabber rather than just jumping in full speed like usual. Thanks Brian! I had to read that last sentence to my wife...she kept looking at me like I was crazy when I was just sitting here laughing at supposedly nothing. LOL

Woah! Those are beauties! What do you finish them on? Maybe I'll try something other than 50k. Thanks Perk! I'm finishing them with the 3000 wheel, then straight over to the polishing disc pre-charged with cerium oxide that's on the right side of the arbor - which came with the machine. I'm so used to spending a lot of time with each stage on the flat lap, I'm still spending a lot of time on each wheel before I even check it...so I don't know if that's adding to the overall finish or not.

I am NOT putting wraps down at all - I do them myself, but that stone is too special and really needs a very simple setting to show off it's gorgeousness.
You mentioned somewhere else that you might start dopping with wax and would have to find a new use for your propane torch. Hello?!?! Your next new adventure will be to learn how to silversmith. It's not that hard and you don't need that many tools to start. I started with a plumbers torch. You can even use a creme brulee torch (I actually use one a lot).
Just thought I'd put that bug in your ear! LOL!

LOL! Way to try and guilt get me into something new! LOL I was just talking with Brent ( Starguy) on the phone Sunday and we were talking about smithing. I said then I didn't want to add another "hobby" onto my plate right now! LOL The more I look at it, the more I think you might be right though...I might have to work out some kind of a deal with someone who knows how to do it already! (Ahem...ahem...ahem! LOL)

Some folks like wire wrapped stones and some people prefer more traditional settings. It's just a matter of having enough variety so they sell. Has your wife seen that stone yet?

Yeah...she saw it...and it was the normal response. "It's really nice." LOL If I keep up the pace I am with making cabs, I'm going to have to stop cabbing and get something done with all of them. LOL I don't doubt I'll eventually take up smithing...but definitely not anytime in the immediate future...I still have a LOT to learn about what I'm doing now.

When I read "I'm finishing them with the 3000 wheel" I think I gasped out loud think I must be doing something wrong! 😂 I have a cerium belt but it doesn't fit my drum. Maybe I'll have to get a new one.
