So, everyone knows that the people on this forum are among the most generous, helpful and kind people that you'll find anywhere.
The things that the people in my Rock Tumbling Hobby family will do for people never ceases to amaze me, and I'd like to share a story.
Back in June I decided that I'd like to make some nightlights for Christmas presents for my family, but I don't really have a proper saw to cut the slabs for it. So I reached out to one of our members and asked if he had any slabs that he would sell me, then I would polish them. He said that he would get back to me.
Fast-forward to December 1, I get a message asking if I was still interested in slabs. Of course I said yes and he sent some Brazilian slabs that were already polished and I ordered the rest of the things that I needed.
Plus, this very kind gentleman sent me some other slabs of some very cool material that I am going to cab.
If you haven't guessed already, it was Mr. Henry HankRocks.
So again, sir, thank you for this! These lights will go to my family this Christmas and will truly be appreciated!
Merry Christmas, Henry.
Here's some pictures of the slabs that he sent and how the nightlights turned out...

That's great. Enough backlight to function as needed but lights up the slab. I likes it!

Those are awesome! What a great idea. Yeah, unfortunately it wasn't my idea- there's several people on here that do it I think, but Henry is the one that I first saw who posted his nightlights.
He does great work...

Mike, thanks for the kind words. The nightlight looks good and I am sure your family will be happy with them. Be interesting to see what kind of pendants you make out of the slabs.
Small acts of kindness are good for the soul. We need a whole lot more of them in this crazy world.

I'm going to try to work one of the slabs tonight if I get time- I just have to pick which one...
Indeed they are, and indeed we do.

Henry is super nice and there's been quite a few people (including yourself, my friend) that have helped me down the rabbit hole along the way and they're what make this community such a fantastic thing to belong to for me.

Hey...without you playing a major part, I wouldn't be where I am today with all this! Credit or blame...I know we still haven't come to a conclusion on that one! LOL
