You're welcome and anytime I can help, I'd be happy to brother.
Some of the rainbow ridge agate is unusually light for it's size. That's a long run barrel now, 99% is rough agate so I don't forsee anything coming out before a month or 2 at the earliest. With my big barrels on slow rolls, I'll probably do 10 days between checks instead of 7 days.
ETA .... Wanted to add that the rebel is quiet enough that you can hear your load if you put your ear to the barrel. Even with the barrel loaded that full, I can hear the load swooshing around easily in there.

I just got my Rebel 17 in the mail today. Could you give me a run down of your tumbling process and measurements you use in that tumbler (as far as rock, grit, and water)? Also what results have you gotten? Thanks

Also what results have you gotten? Thanks I've kind of followed the "standard" recipe. I use 12 tablespoons of 80 grit per load, generally with rock to the 75-80 line depending on what size rocks are in there and keep my water line a couple inches below the top of the rocks, could probably go less to be honest. You kind of get an eye for it eventually. I absolutely love this tumbler, it's been solid from day one. The only missteps I've had along the way were putting too many rocks in so that when I flipped on the motor on it clearly was struggling, and secondly I pinched the gasket around one of the bolts and had a minor leak and slightly deformed gasket but hasn't been an issue since.
I only use it for preforming, same as my Thumler AR12, the big tumblers still tend to smash rocks that might otherwise be done. For anything that has a tumble or two left, I switch to smaller batches in my Lortone 33B.
Hope that helps, and good luck!

The belt on the AR17 lasted 8 months, another selling point.

The belt on the AR17 lasted 8 months, another selling point. Wow - that is great news! I got a Rebel a few weeks ago; and, preparing for the worst, I immediately followed that up with ordering extra belts. I've had a Thumler's Model B for a couple years, and my main complaint would be how quickly the belt wears out and belt slippage. It really slows the RPM's of the barrel. Other than that, I've really liked the Model B; but the Rebel is definitely built to last. I'm really impressed. I load both with 5 Tablespoons of 60/90 grit and 15 tablespoons of 46/70 grit. Water - maybe a cup. I run them pretty dry, I think. Grit is gone in 5 days. I like to open my tumblers and check alllllll the rocks once a week. It's so fun, but there better be LOTS of progress to make it fun. I like big tumblers, and I cannot lie.

As promised. I redid my load as most of what was in there needed some saw & grinder love. New batch is 6lbs of Bahia Agate and 8lbs + ozs of Rainbow Ridge Agate and other stuff. This load is lighter than usual by a few lbs. With just the left over slurry, the barrel was at 6lbs 11ozs. The 14lbs 13ozs is the barrel zeroed and is the weight of the rock. The 25lbs is the barrel + rocks + grit + water buttoned up and ready to roll. brybryIs that green colorful stuff rainbow agate and if so where can I get some? Kelly

It came with the batch I got off of eBay. Haven't seen it since. The batch I got has a ton of pits, not sure if that's normal for the material in general or I ended up with a not so great batch.

howgneiss I tweaked my water quite a bit. I'm adding 2 cups of water per batch now. I tried 1-1/2 cups and while I think it does actually make a nicer slurry, the cleanup is too much for my kitchen sink and 5 gallon buckets lol.
I would say if you have the room to spray like crazy, go with 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 cups water
