That should be a lignite coal mine. I have always wanted to see a bucket wheel excavator up close.

Those are amazing pictures! Not being a "tree hugger" (can I still say that?), but what a massive scar on the face of the earth... FYI, Mining makes much less significant scaring of the earths surface compared to shopping malls and/or roads.

A stable fracture is where the broken ends of the bone pretty much line up and are barely out of place. A compound fracture is much more severe and takes a lot more time and effort to heal. But the bottom line is...they're both broken bones... (To clarify, I wasn't putting down mining whatsoever...it's a part of our "civilized" life. But it does sadly leave a scar on the face of the earth... )
