I know mixed tumbles don't always turn out great, but they are so hard to resist! I bought this mix off Amazon just to try it out since it seemed a little different than other mixes available. Lots of pictures ahead. The rough (pictured wet) Note: The sanskrit/calligraphy/whatever stone was not listed in the description but obviously I got some, I don't like tumbling this stuff so it was not included. Also did not include the two pieces of black tourmaline, the sunstone, and the granite in the tumble (which was supposed to be dalmatian stone but I got granite instead, oh well it's what you risk when buying from amazon) And the results: red aventurine yellow aventurine green aventurine blue aventurine amethyst moonstone red jasper carnelian the failed iolite tree agate liked this one some really cool fancy jasper (or maybe moss agate? I have a hard time knowing the difference) green ones green ones that did not do well tried to get a picture of a cool area of this moss agate but my camera had a really hard time focusing on it this was difficult but had a fun time with it. Hopefully one day I can redo the iolite. Also had a lot of soap get stuck after the cleaning run which I'll probable make a separate post about. Mainly bought this mix since it had all colors of aventurine which tumbles so nicely. If anyone knows a source for mixed color aventurine I'd love to know.

Those look awesome! Great job getting those so well done! They are nicely shaped and perfectly polished. What tumbler(s) do you use?

I like the look of the yellow aventurine and amethyst, hopefully mine will turn out as well as yours did.

I use a Harbor Freight (Chicago Electric) dual 3lb drum rotary tumbler. This is the only tumbler I have at the time so my rocks go through all stages in this one tumbler.

Hello rockfrog, quite a mix there. All the aventurine is beautiful, and the red jasper. What do you plan to do with the sunstone? It is a pretty soft stone, I have some just like it. Thanks for sharing and all the photos.

The ones that came out great...came out REALLY great! Fantastic job on those Frog! I know some people use a water pick (the dental kind) to get gunk out of the pits and fractures...

The second tumbler I got is like the Chicago electric one. Mine's a Lortone 33b that I used for a while for everything before I found a used vibratory tumbler. I didn't have the patience for rotary after a while.

Thanks for sharing and all the photos. thank you! It's too soft to tumble with the stuff I normally tumble so I'll probably just keep it for now. I've been thinking about learning how to carve with my dremel so I might use it as practice material, other than that I don't have much use for it at the moment

Great presentation with before / after pics and a pretty load of stones. Really like the amethyst and the cool agates.

Wow, the rare rocks that are beautiful as-is. They also look good tumbled.
