Found this in the fertile sandy loam of a south Georgia farm field. Stuck out like a sore thumb being there is very little rock in this field. Looks like the disc plow spoke to it about a dozen times. Dang plows and artifacts are arch enemies. Appears to be low grade granite. Odd that the nut holding divot is within the perimeter of the concave grinding depression.

A guy with lots of grit could vibe tumble that to remove the scratches. Archeological restoration?

A guy with lots of grit could vibe tumble that to remove the scratches. Archeological restoration? Great idea. Fortunately this one is made from granite instead of a soapstone. It is aggravating that so much land has seen mechanical disturbance.
