Being new to this forum ill stumble through this. I don't have a picture as of yet but I do have a question. I am struggling in my set up of the drive and idler shaft. What is a good width and height differnce between the two?

THere should be no height difference between them (they should be on the same level plane). Width between the 2 is dependent on the barrel diameter. Too close together and the barrel may jump, too far apart and it will try to "wedge" itself between the shafts (causing undue strain on the belt and motor). If I remember correctly the shafts should be 1/3 of the distance apart as the diameter of the barrel. WELCOME to the board!

I've built a dozen+ tumblers from 1 quart to 5-gallon barrel size, a rod spacing center to center of 2/3 the diameter of the barrels has worked well for me. Very important to keep spacing from end to end the same.

There you have it 2/3! The more I think about (and went and measured my Model B) 2/3 makes more sense.
