It’s a learning curve, you will figure it out. Once you get it wired, you’ll kill it. They are rocks, don’t stress.

Vibes aren't really for rough tumbling. Some of those aren't going to come out as well as you may like.

I really like the more natural shapes of my rocks and don’t really prefer them super rounded. So as long as they polish up ok then I will be happy. Do you think they might not polish well without a bit of time in the rotary?

They will polish up great. Just not shape. So you should be really happy.

Do you think they might not polish well without a bit of time in the rotary? Some will, some may not. Anything with pits could be a disappointment. Even a week in 80 grit would give you a good prep base to start with without rounding them too much. With that said, here comes the caveat. You won't learn how to get the effect you want without trying, so go for it. Worst case, you loose a little grit and some time. Even with the worst case, there is something to be learned. There is a ton of info on here to follow that will get you perfectly rounded, super shiny stones. If that isn't what you want, then you will have to use trial & error. Not everyone likes their stones to be absolutely perfectly rounded. Do you Chica, you are the only one who knows how you want them. All we can do is give advice and help to get you where you want them to be.

Super congrats Ashley! Man that looks SO clean in that first picture! LOL When going straight into the vibe without "preshaping" in a rotary, you'll definitely want to make sure you get the grit out of any pits/fractures that are still in the stones before going to the next step...

Thank you Jugglerguy for your YouTube videos! I’ve watched your lot o review video twice now to reassure myself I’m doing this right! Sure is nice to see things and not just read them.

jasoninsd how long would you leave them in the 1st stage without being in the rotary before?

jasoninsd how long would you leave them in the 1st stage without being in the rotary before? Each rock is different. I truly wish there was a "one size fits all" kind of method...but there's not really. You've got to listen to what each rock is telling you. The cool thing about tumbling, is if you find out you move one on that wasn't ready, you can always take it back a step or two if needed later on...

After watching the rocks for a day and night and watching Jugglerguy video it seems that the lot o will need adjusted. :/ the dowel is a bit far back and the rocks aren’t moving as fast as videos I’ve seen of them in the lot o. We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully I don’t ruin the whole thing!

The lot o survived as did I! Got my husband to help me adjust it according to Jugglerguy ‘s video. So thankful for that! Now it’s moving along nicely in there!

Hey ashley , congratulations on getting your Lot-O up and running, I have two and I think that you'll love it. If you find that parts of a rock polish up nicely (the high spots) and other parts don't, it would help greatly if you added lots of small filler stones or ceramic media to the load, which would then allow those dull surfaces to take a polish as well. Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing your finished beauties.

Thank you catskillrocks I threw in some small ceramics with it to help fill it up a bit and to help polish better. I’m sure there are times you don’t need them but figured it won’t hurt.
