Welcome to the RTH Forum community! We are happy you are here and understand how important it is to upload photos on a forum. Uploading photos into your posts can be accomplished by carefully following these steps from a desktop PC. If you are using the forum on a smart phone, scroll down to the very bottom of the page and click on the DESKTOP link to enter DESKTOP MODE. 1. Click on MY PROFILE link in the navigation bar near the top 2. Click on EDIT PROFILE button 3. Click on SETTINGS tab 4. Find the CLOUDINARY CLOUD NAME field and enter: forum-rocktumblinghobby-com5. Find the CLOUDINARY UPLOAD PRESET field and enter: upload-photos6. Scroll down and click on SAVE CLOUDINARY SETTINGS button 7. Click on SAVE ACCOUNT SETTINGS button Exit back to the main forum and you are now ready to use the Cloudinary Upload button when posting a new thread or replying to a post. Please read our Terms of Service below. TERMS of SERVICE By using this free shared account you agree to not use it to upload videos. Videos uploaded via Cloudinary consume an enormous amount of bandwidth when served and viewed on a forum thousands of times.
Videos uploaded to this shared account will be automatically deleted without trying to track down who posted it!
If you are tech saavy and ready to register and set up your own account on the Cloudinary website without these restrictions we have created a step by step tutorial to assist you. Keep in mind we have no control over the Cloudinary website and they make changes to it. What you are seeing in the tutorial might not be exactly what it looks like on the Cloudinary website so some workarounds might be required.

Please excuse my ignorance but I just wanted to clarify. This is used to add a pic to a post and/or create a post? Not in order to create a library of let's say one's finds?

Not sure if this is where I ask but I've been trying to set this up but am beyond struggling. I'm attempting to do it from my laptop. It doesn't give me an option of "my profile" only gives me "my home page" upon clicking on that it states I don't have a home page .
Do I have to do these steps on my phone? I'm so beyond lost.

Jjust a girl wanting to post pics Hi, and sorry for the frustration if we haven't lost you already It's hard to tell exactly what you're looking at - laptop should be easier than doing it on your phone but I'll go with phone for a minute. On the forum front page (big long list of various forum categories) scroll to the very bottom of your screen and you should see choice between "Dashboard" and "Desktop" Click on Desktop and then you should be able to zoom in and see a navigation bar near the top. In that navigation bar is a option to go to "My Profile"

Updated 9/04/23 - please do not use the free shared account to upload videos, thanks! Updated again 3/15/2024 Switching to a new shared account. Going forward with these newly posted presets the 4 pixel wide border around uploaded photos will switch from light blue to light reddish. Previous (blue border) version of shared account is unaffected by this change so everyone using it should continue using it without switching to this new one. I had to add teeth to the "no videos" rule - I had to delete several videos that were uploaded on the shared account. Video's drive up the bandwidth usage and after a bit of time elapses it's nearly impossible to track down who posted them - so from now on I'm going to check the Cloudinary shared gallery regularly and delete videos as soon as I see them.

Thank you! I'll try that. You haven't lost ne yet! 🤣 As frustrated as I get I love the knowledge I've gained so far. So it looks like you're stuck with me. I do admit to be book smart but I'm lacking in common sense most of the time. Hence my confusion....a lot!

Can you private message me your Cloudinary Cloud Name and Preset name so I can take a look at it? These are from the two fields in your profile that get filled in. If you went the long route and created your own Cloudinary account they will look different from these:
