I sprung for a new blade (Covington gold) for my 1960s weight-fed 16 inch rock saw. I'd done some other refurb on it and it has done decent work. (Have only had it for a month.)
While I had the blade off (and was waiting for a new one to arrive) I pulled and replaced the bearings (badly needed), changed the belt, etc.. Now I'm struggling to get the blade running true again.
I've cleaned behind the stabilizers, I've adjusted, readjusted, and cussed at the bearing housing, but I'm getting some weird lateral travel on my blade. I've had the thing off and back on again in a dozen different configurations (different washers, different stabilizers, etc.) but just can't seem to get it running right. I checked the blade on a level workbench, and it's not warped even though it looks like it in the videos.
This imgur link (below) has a video and some photos. Would love expert input if you're willing to offer it.

Do you have or can borrow a dial indicator to check to see if the inside saw collar is running true, probably the best first place to start looking. Assuming the blade is flat.

Did you buy a factory spec blade or a discount out of round blade? The gold series are sold both ways. You may gotten a discount blade. Will still cut but isn't within factory specs for true.

Did the old blade run true ?
You might try swapping the inside to outside stabilizers. You can also mark the blade with a marker, & try rotating it to different positions on the arbor. You might hit a sweet spot where it runs true.

Is there a flange on the nut side? maybe it's just the camera angle, but if you don't have equal sized flanges on both sides tightening the blade will dish it. You also don't need to do more tha a good and snug when tightening the blade nut.

It would run, and it would cut, but it left a kerf way wider than the blade. But it also didn't check out as level. The new blade is (if my worktable and spirit level can be trusted) testing level. I'll try the rotating strategy. Many thanks!
